What you get

Here's what a real
recommendation looks like.

An actual output for a south-facing backyard in Austin, TX (Zone 8b). Your plan will be specific to your zip code and your goals.

Plant plan — Austin, TX · Zone 8b · South-facing
Recommended plants for your space
Selected for full sun, Zone 8b heat tolerance, and Texas growing conditions
🍅
Cherry Tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum)
Plant in early March. Austin's long hot season suits them perfectly — 'Sweet 100' handles the heat and produces all summer.
🌿
Autumn Sage (Salvia greggii)
Texas native, drought tolerant, blooms spring through fall. Hummingbirds and pollinators love it — virtually maintenance-free.
🌸
Esperanza (Tecoma stans)
Bright yellow blooms all summer when other plants struggle. Nearly indestructible in Zone 8b, full sun.
🌱
Lantana (Lantana camara)
Low water, full sun, blooms all season. Pairs beautifully with Salvia and keeps butterflies coming from April through October.

FAQ

Common questions.

What exactly is a "plant recommendation"?+
A personalized list of what to plant in your specific outdoor space — based on your zip code, sun exposure, and goals. It includes which plants to buy, which ones grow well together, how to care for each one, and a seasonal schedule for your local climate. Free users get 3. Evergreen+ subscribers get unlimited.
What data powers the recommendations?+
Every recommendation uses USDA plant hardiness zone data and NOAA weather records for your zip code — your frost dates, annual rainfall, summer heat, and growing season length. The weekly care emails also pull your 7-day local forecast so timing is always relevant to what's actually happening in your yard.
Does this work for balconies and patios?+
Yes. If you're growing outdoors in containers — on a balcony, a deck, or a patio — we'll recommend plants suited to container growing in your local climate and give you care reminders calibrated to pot-specific needs (containers dry out faster than ground beds, for example).
Is the weekly email actually personalized?+
Yes. Every Monday email is generated specifically for your plants, your zip code, and your local 7-day weather forecast. It's not a generic newsletter — it's a care plan for what's growing in your yard this week, based on what's actually happening with the weather where you live.
How does plant problem support work?+
On Evergreen+ plans, reply to any care email with a plant problem — "my tomatoes are dropping flowers" or "my roses have black spots" — and get a practical, specific response based on your plants and local growing conditions.
Can I cancel anytime?+
Yes — no fees, no questions. Cancel from your account page or reply to any email asking us to cancel. Your free access stays active even after canceling a paid plan.
